The Logo of Tzu Chi

The main form of the Tzu Chi logo is a lotus flower, which symbolizes that we can make the world a better place by planting seeds of virtue. Only with these seeds can the flowers  bloom and bear fruit. A better world can be established with good actions and a pure mind.

The ship symbolizes that Tzu Chi steers a ship of compassion  to save all sentient beings from suffering. The eight petals represent  the Noble Eightfold Paths, serving as a guidance for Tzu Chi members in walking their life.

The Noble Eightfold Path of the Noble Path includes:

  1. Right View
  2. Right Intention
  3. Right Speech
  4. Right Conduct
  5. Right Livelihood
  6. Right Effort
  7. Right Mindfulness
  8. Right Concentration
